'To Repair with Gold' will soon be on the move again as it heads to New Ashgate Gallery in Farnham to be a part of the Hothouse: Selected exhibition.
'To Repair with Gold' is a series of handwoven panels exploring the idea of kintsugi: the Japanese art of repairing and broken ceramics with gold or silver lacquer and the understanding that the object is more beautiful for having been broken.
They will be shown alongside work by fellow Hothouse 2017 participants Verity Howard and Tim Evershed, as well as participants from previous cohorts such as jeweller Heather McDermott and ceramicist Elaine Bolt. It will be a delight to have work in the same room as these talented craftspeople!
New Ashgate Gallery said, 'This exhibition celebrates fresh, innovative and bespoke craft and is part of our programme to exhibit some of the most exciting makers to art lovers and collectors."
